libreoffice.calc email addresses are grayed out

I'm using Libreoffice calc as a database to keep track of contacts. I have a problem with the way it handles email addresses. They are not readable. Instead they are 'grayed out'. How can I change this behavior?

I am not 100% sure what you mean; any chance you could post a screenshot?

However, you could try either (1) changing the format by right clicking the cell(s) and selecting "Format Cells" from the menu or (2) adjusting the styling by using the "Styles" tab in top menu bar.

Are you trying to make the email addresses in the spreadsheet active as links so that you can call up your e-mail program and send an e-mail simply by clicking on the spreadsheet link?

Best bet would be to go to the LibreOffice forums and check there. I know it can be done.

The cells are set so that they are active links but I never use them like that. My problem is that they cannot be read, but in stead the cell with an email address is a uniform gray color with no type or letters showing. The email address is there, and can be seen by hovering over it but not copied, and it remains invisible unless you are hovering over it with the mouse. Not a really big deal, but an unnecessary aggravation.
