I see how to create the database

It is not obvious to me how I cause writer to iterate through the data base creating the paragraphs.

Can you make suggestions or point me to some tutorial?

Figured it out. You insert the fields from the base file into the writer document using insert - fields - other - database option
you print the doc using the mailmerge option

when it comes time to file the result yuu select the option that files all the separate mailing pieces as one file

you then go thru that doc and delete the page breaks between the paragraphs.

easy once you understand - so now I understgand
