Libre Office Writer document window colour grey instead of white

I have accidentally hit the wrong combination of Ctrl + whatever key which mysteriously turned my Writer document windows to grey (please see screenshot). For the life of me, I just didn't even know which where the wrong keys I pressed. As typing mistakes go, I didn't even remember which keys were pressed. Attempts to Undo didn't reverse the change in window colour.

I cannot get the document window back to white. Every new document or existing documents all open up in same grey colour now. Writer Help does not contain anything on this problem.

Help would be greatly appreciated if anyone can tell me what key or how to get it back to white.

Thanks very much in advance

Well, if it's solved, what was the solution? Please tell us so that anyone else who hits the same problem can benefit.

It just as mysteriously went back to white background as it did to grey. I wanted to delete my post in order to avoid confusion or misunderstanding, but there was no option to delete your own post.
