Libre office very hard on CPU and GPU and Laggy?

I have been just doing some school projects and noticed that libre office is laggy and hard to work with when I get alot of data in the spreadsheet of Text document... and I have a i7 5500U 5th gen 4 cores running at 2.40 GHz with 8gbs of ram and a AMD Radeon R9 M275X... and these are the only programs i have trouble with... looking for any solutions for this problem (whether its new software or a fix for libre office)

heres a screen-shot from GNOME System Monitor

You attachment doesn't seem to have come through.

LibreOffice is a big program, but I just started it on a machine with 4GB RAM and it didn't even show up in top. However, I wasn't actively doing anything in it. I do have another small spreadsheet that I use regularly on another computer, but it's mostly for record keeping and doesn't do any calculations (no formulas, etc.), but I've never had any difficulties in using it.

How big is the spreadsheet file (both file size and number of worksheets), what distro/version are you using, and could you give us some precise descriptive examples of what you mean by "laggy"?

Probably under mod review before we can see the attachment.
Are you converting the data ?. Is is still laggy after the conversion is finished ?.

I am running Ubuntu 14.04 LTS

Seems to be a "feature" - default memory settings. Have a read of this.

also have a look at this:
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php...up_LibreOffice

from memory: there's some performance issues with java, but you usually don't really need it and it's possible to disable it completely.
just see if your exel spreadsheet still works afterwards.

You're not uninstalling it, you're just telling LO not to use it.
