Pls suggest me a compatible "microsoft office suit" on linux that can get work done.
I have tried open office before, it is worst than libre office, infact, it looks like open office uses the same core of libreoffice, just UI looks better.
Else i would really have to go back to microsoft .. have to work using 2 partition...
Also, i heard there is something call, "windows remote desktop" thing.. which i believe one hardware run purely on microsoft windows and softwares.. the other hardware runs on linux, hence user can remote to the windows desktop, so that one can have both windows and linux environment at anytime...
Anybody familiar with that ? it that any good to get work done ? since many linux packages just can't get work done.. crashes like no tomorrow. I can't get kdenlive to work on endea as well.. when in insert text, it crashes EVERYTIME (1 months ago, i was trying to use kdenlive, waste of my time, hence i didn't touch it since). I was using "let's edit 6 " on windows with no problem at all.

Probably Discover. Lat time I did KDE thats what the thing reached for. I make sure and try that garbage once every year or 18 months to confirm I still can't stand it.
Bout time to have a run at Gnome again...been a couple years and Ferens flavor looks "ok"

LibreOffice should set up a bug reporting address
Please upvote this LibreOffice bug, so they set up a bug reporting address for handling crashes.

What about this?
On my Mac, “OpenOffice” would crash hard, about 30 seconds after starting – every single time.
I traced this down, finally, to the ”automatically check for software updates” option. Very-quickly turning this option OFF permanently solved the problem.
Now, I actually don’t know the situation with “Libre” and with “Linux,” but this rings a bell … The application unceremoniously hard-crashed all the way to the operating system.

I must take issue with a previous post.
Every job I ever held involved writing, first with a typewriter (an IBM Selectric), and then with Word Processors all the way back to Display Write under DOS. I started using OOo almost 20 years ago and moved to Libreoffice after the Oracle debacle.
I have always found LO to be a very nice piece of work.
OP, it might help if you would say where you got the LO package from. I always had good luck with Alien Bob's LO package, but I have to say I no longer live inside word processors all day, so it's been a while since I put LO on Slackware.
