Libre office Base, form navigation icons have disappeared

Hi all, I have searched for an answer to this issue but can only find a few examples of other users with the same issue and no solutions.

I am a complete noob with databases and have decided to make a contacts database for work purposes from following some tutorials on youtube.

I am on an ubuntu 14.10 box with Flubox DE and LO 4.4.0.

All worked well to begin with, I have created a database with two tables and then made a stand-alone form to enter/review/modify data as need be.

At the bottom of my form I have inserted two navigation bars (one for the main form and one for the sub-form) which worked well the first few times I opened and used the form. After a few uses the buttons in the navigation bars have disappeared (screenshot attached), the highlighting still works when I hover over them but no tooltip is displayed so I don't know what the button I'm hovering is!

Anyone got any idea what I have broken this time?!?!?
