Unhappy Libre Office Base can't print labels

When I open my "xmas" database file I see all the info in the tables mode. However when I try to make some labels by going "new" and then "labels" only database that will show up is "Bibliography" and so I can't print labels using my database. I've tried this with both Libre Office and Open Office and get the same results. When I try to open it on another computer it says that "connection to data source "xmas" could not be established. What am I doing wrong?

Have you added the database via a wizard? You need to register the database, that it's for address labels. If you open Tools/Options/LibreOffice Base/Databases, you should see your xmas database. If not, you need to click on New, navigate to that database, and register it.

Thanks

That partly worked. The mail merge doesn't put the labels in the same order as the table. I have the table in alphabetical order, but the labels come out starting with about record forty. I would like my labels in alphabetical order.

I haven't used mail merge in a very long time. I think you're going to have to figure that out yourself, or wait for someone who knows that to come along. I just don't have the time to spend to research that for you.
