libraries and yumand mounting the drives...
My sis190 lan card is not working and hence i downloaded the mplayer and others (xine, amarok, vlc)under windows and then tried to install (the rpms). Then it (my fc3 on AMD64,Asus) showed many library dependency errors and i tried downloading them all from freshrpms,rpm.pbone,etc.....But didn't succeed.and indeed there were library conflict prowhat shall i do?the amarok version is also tar ball format.
will
yum install "rpm's link name(site) "
work??
or
yum install package name ???
Does yum install the package directly from net and solve dependency probs????
At the same time i've to compile my new kernel ......and it seems that there is no i386 rpm for 2.6.14 kernel which contains sis190 module in it...
and about the mounting of windows drives. We gave the command
mount -t vfat /dev........... /mnt/......
as usuall and mounted them on our systems(i and my friends). But for my friends the mounting was only when the user was logged in.Whenever they logged out the partitions were unmounted automatically(for me it works fine).I searched their /etc/fstab but couldn't find the drives/p[artitions mounted..how to make this mounting permenant??
for fc3....
