libdvdcss2 not working after downloading

I just installed libdvdcss2. I figured opening it would open it and it would work, but it doesn't. I have 14.04 linux. I have done this several times and I keep on getting the same results...imagine that.

Not really clear what you've done and what you're trying to do. I don't understand what you mean by "opening it". You don't open libdvdcss2; you install the package. What exactly have you done several times and what exactly were the results. I can't imagine that because I don't really know what you're talking about.

libdvdcss2 is a library that allows other media apps (vlc, mplayer, etc...) to read commercial dvds. It is not an app in and of its self.
