libdv, Coriander, dvgrab

Anyone have any experiance with these apps? I need to grab a DV Firewire stream from a DV camera, and burn it directly from that to disc. Know how I could get this, or apps like this, to do that?

I am building a new box for this purpose, but will be testing it out on:
Athlon XP 2100+
512mb RAM 2700
FC2, Kernel 2.6.8.1
(no DVD burner, tho, will be testing it out on CD or HD)

I just got a really good deal on a dvd writer and found out that K3B wouldn't work with the 2.6.8 kernel. I had to go back to 2.6.7.

Its cool, I can still test the DV capturing ability of Linux without a DVD burner, thanks for the warning about 2.6.8 kernel and DVD's! I would have spent HOURS (prolly) figuring out why the DVD wasn't working.
