LFTP - How to recognize files already downloaded

I have a question about LFTP use, to automate ftp downloads.
I have to download files from a ftp server, in real time, for example every 5 minutes. So I wonder if there is a method to recognize files that I have already downloaded from the ftp server.

Thank you

Regards

What do you mean by: recognize files already downloaded?

I guess some kind of mirror mode is wanted. First I thought about rsync but that one does not work over ftp. But there is lftp and ncftp. Check out this one http://serverfault.com/questions/246...rsync-over-ftp
