Lexmark 63 printer driver

Hi all.

I had no success in getting assistance from Lexmark. However, I read elsewhere that using other drivers sometimes works. In the case of the Lexmark X63 (combo printer, scanner, fax), I did find that the driver for the Lexmark Z53 allows me to print from the X63 perfectly!

So I didn't need to buy another printer just for Linux. (:-)

The scanner function seems to work except that when scanning, the background comes out red! (When it's white!). Any suggestions how to fix that or is ti a wrong friver problem, in which case I'll live it.

Thanks.

well the only other thing i read is that people have gotten the x63 working using drivers for the z42 and z52...
all i can say about lexmark is that they probably have one of the worse support when it comes to linux, and you have to really work at getting a lexmark product to operate, unless you get lucky off the get go..
so all you can really do is test the different driver sets, and see what works best i guess...you can even look at the x73 which has a partial working status, so they might work also...
anyways good luck!
