lenovo T43: the wireless not getting activated

Hello,
I have laptop lenovo T43 with FC11. The wireless is not getting activated (the lamp is not glowing). When I boot to windows, it is glowing.
I have tried everything - used iwconfig etc to set parameters etc etc., all without any result, the wireless stubbornly remains in sleep mode. With this in off state, I can not even scan for the networks.
When I try to activate it through System->Administration->Network, it says cable unplugged.

Can anyone suggest me ways to kick this wireless out of sleep.

Thanks.

Hi,

Have you ever installed the driver for the wireless device??
If yes!! please start the network-manager service through serviceconf and
this will automatically detect ethernet connections!!
An icon will be placed on the right top corner near the clock.

If no!! please install the appropriate driver for the particular device.

Hi Prab

On my T40 I have to press <Fn> <F5> to turn the wireless on.
Yours maybe the same.
