Hi

Greetings!!

We get a error below for ldconfig command in RHEL 7.x
It works fine in RHEL 6.x and 5.X

# ldconfig
ldconfig: ../sigar/libsigar-ia64-linux.so is for unknown machine 50.

ldconfig: ../sigar/libsigar-ia64-linux.so is for unknown machine 50.

Appreciate if anyone could help for this issue.

Thanks in advance

it's saying those libraries aren't compatible with your computer, and can't be used.

Hi,

Thanks for the response. But the below command seems to work properly

# /sbin/ldconfig -v

Using the just the command "ldconfig" is correct usage?

Thanks in advance

Welcome to LQ

Have you reviewed the man page?

Thank You. I have updated with the latest 1.6.4(libsigar-amd64-linux.so libsigar-ia64-linux.so sigar.jar), but still this issue is not solved in RHEL 7.X. Can you please help.

ld-config likely registered all libs except that lib successfully

if it didn't, you'd be asking us about how to resotre a backup from a rescue disk

if you don't know what the lib is why are your trying to get ld to accept it?
