LDAP & Samba not running on Linux server
HI Have a Clear OS 6.4 Linux installation that is acting as a file store for a windows network. Over the weekend the server lost power and when it came back the server fails to start a couple of services
Ldap smb The Ldap service starts and stops immediately and the samba service fails to start because it can't connect to the ldap service. I did some searching on the network and found a few articles but they didn't really help me. Does anyone know in basic terms how to get my ldap service running again. My Linux exposure is pretty limited. I will add that this setup was installed by my predecessor and one of his friends so I'm not sure what was set up or how. |
Please check of the problem is due to timing issue and the backup, since it mostly happens.

I'd think that there is a log of the problem. I assume that you had it ready to start on power on. Logs tend to be in /var subdirectory. You'd have to double check clearos docs.
I get the feeling that the network is the issue so after looking at logs might also look at network. https://www.clearos.com/resources/do...fails_to_start |
