LCD screen and X
Whenever I start X my laptop LCD screen shuts down (and I mean really down since the backlight is off)
and then starts with the windows stuff. This is very annoying, is there a way to stop the screen from shutting down? |
"...and then starts with the windows stuff" does that mean it reboots and takes you to windows? What distro are you using and which version of X?
PS I would suggest this is a hardware |
I mean it then works correctly and starts the X server and windows manager. It's just that every time my laptop goes into X mode the screen power offs for a couple of seconds.
It is the same problem in both Mandrake and Knoppix but the problem goes away in DSL. I am on a Fujitsu Lifebook S6120. |
Hi there,
I also have the same problem. Did you find any solution to this ? This happens even when I switch to any virtual console with (CTRL+ALT+F1) and come back to X with (CTRL+ALT+F7). I own a toshiba satellite M30 laptop and am running Fedora Core 2. Thanks!!! --Cyberjun |
