need layout program and filemanager

I haven't found any good file manager for linux, XFCEs is crap, nautilus crashes all the time
and konquerer is just wasting RAM. Any ideas?

Futhermore I and a couple of my fellow students are writing a small newspaper for a school
project and I sed that i can do the layout. Mac-neerds use Quark Express, are there any good
layout programs for Linux? Last time i did the layout i made it in MSpaint ^^ . If I knew how to
include images in the posts i could show a page from the newspaper.

Yoy don't say what you want from a file manager, but you should give Gentoo a try.

If you are talking about the filemanager (i assume you do ) then ill try it, thx.
If you are talking about the distro: no thx.
Ive tried installing Gentoo a number of times without succses, then my teacher tried installing gentoo
through ssh two times and then GRUB wouldn't load the kernel.
If i can only get sound working properly then ill stick to FC2.
