Launching a program on Log in


Hai
I use a Suse 10.1 and I want to launch Skype as soon as I log in.
what is the kind of script I should add and where?

Depends on by which means you log in, and into which window manager/desktop
environment. KDE has an Autostart-directory, if you use XDM you can put
stuff into your .xsession file. If you log into text-mode and manually
do startx, put it into your .xinitrc file ...

Adding a shortcut

Sorry but where do I find the KDE Autostart-directory..BY the way can I add a
KDE control center to my installation??

cd ~/.kde/Autostart

No idea what SuSE has done to KDE, sorry. You could report your own
post and ask the mod of this Forum to move it to the Suse/Novell forum
for better exposure.

Sorry I use a GNOME...not KDE..so where are autostart entries found?

No idea, I don't do Gnome.

I don't do KDE, either, but my wife does. Hence the rudimentary knowledge
in that department :}
