Launchcast on linux?

Did anyone manage to get launchcast to work in linux? I tried IE6 with crossover office but it seems it cannot do pop-ups for some reason. Its my only reason for keeping going back to windows. If anyone got it to work could you tell me how you did?

The reason is that the creaters of launc hhave not programmed it to be run in Netscape. You would have to use wine and run IE. I think I answered the question but if not please elaborate a little more.

I am currently downloading wine but I have noticed that the netscape communicator 4.7 serie is supported but not netscape 6 or 7. I tried it but I get no sound, even with crossover plugin. Is there a reason the the old 2001 browser is supported and not the newer ones? Shouldnt the new ones have more features?(mozilla is a pretty high-tech browser) or is it only something the yahoo deliberately disabled?
I doubt someone here know but its worth a paragraph.

i know that the oreilly networks have tried to come up with a solution, but the end result was really ultimately a failure since it doesn't seem to work well with new software..... (and the solution given wasn't exactly clean either and defeats the purpose of launchcast)

it is pretty annoying, and it is the one feature keeping some of my friends from switching to linux... (there are alternatives, but windows training teaches that there is only one thing for everything.... ie there is only one os in the world known as Microsoft Windows (tm) )

btw, in respone to questions, the answer is No, non-windows systems Cannot use launchcast because of heavy integration with native windows media player feature (which in turn interacts with other windows software) which is what makes it difficult to get it working under linux

it would be insanely awesome if yahoo would support linux, and as stated in many other places, there is relatively little way for them to go wrong since it will only open their site up for a greater audience with more room for advertising (not that i appreciate it )
yahoo could possibly keep the wmv format (since Mplayer can handle it) but remove the code tying directly to windows media

if a petition is already available, where is it and is it publicized/known to yahoo?
if not, let's make one!
