Lauching X as non root

Hy all,

does anyone know how to allow some users (other than root) to launch X ?

I can't find any valuable doc about this, and I get this error when I try to do it :
Code:
USER$ X -ac -noreset :10
X: user not authorized to run the X server, aborting.

A few more details : I'm trying this under KDE.

In fact it works in console mode (non graphical), when I type
Code:
X :2
there's an X server launched for display 2, whatever the user.
However, when trying the same command in a console IN KDE, I get the error shown previously (EXCEPT when root...)
Anyone aware of it ?
(I suppose one can find a conf file where to say which user can launch an X session... but I can't find it !!)

Have checked permissions on X and its linked target. Don't see any prob.s there.

This should not baffle all. There should be a solution or at least a why not!

From a terminal, probably should su as root and run xterm or whatever there and su back into a regular user, mmmmmmmmm, maybe ... dunno.

Someone please reply usefully, too much garble in google bout this as it relates to an upgrade from an earlier XFRee86 upgrade.

I wasn't at that time trying to start another x-session ...

Pleasse Help!

Here is solution!

Edit /etc/X11/Xwrapper.config

Try setting allowed_users=anybody -or-
setting it to maybe console and adding yourself to the console group.

Yeah!
