latex animated image

hello,

I'm trying to display an animated image in a "powerpoint"-like presentation using latex/beamer. Is it possible ? I don't care about the extension of the result, whether it's a pdf or not, nor about the software required to read that pdf as long as it's free of charge and displays animated images. I could use windows or linux depending on where this software is available.

Thanks
