Large Download handing, for FedoraDVD.iso
Hey all,
I'm currently trying to download the Fedora DVD iso, but none of the downloaders that I have tried has been able to handle it, the iso is a +4 gig file, and most downloaders (IE, firefox, gozilla, IDA) all end up thinking the file is only like 74 megs.
So i'll download the file and it'll say the iso is broken... duh! Because its +4 gigs, not 74 megs!!! I've tried using bitorrent a few times, but it downloads SO slow, and the only time I got near the mark (about 3.8gigs d/led) the torrent broke or something, so I'd like to avoid that approach if I can.
So basically my question is, Where do I find a download client that supports huge filesizes, e.g. +4 gigs...

Use an FTP client. Most (pretty darn close to all) ones have support for resuming, but make sure resuming is the default if the file already exists locally.

That's a http link, not ftp. Try this instead. But I am pretty confident you can find a faster mirror closer to where you live, check the list of mirrors.

All the ftp links I try from the mirrors list ask me for a userid, what should I do when it asks for this?

Try using "anonymous" as the username and your email address as the password.

Try using WGet like this (I find it very reliable for download resuming):
wget -c http://path/to/fedoradvd.iso
