I'm not familiar with "netscanner" so I do not know what features in a tool you are looking for but you may want to check out

nmap
nmap-fe (front-end for nmap)

There are probably many others but I dont know them off of the top of my head.
...maybe Nessus?

I'm guessing you're looking for software that will allow you to use your scanner over the network.

This is rather simple. Whilst windows makes you jump through hoops in order to accomplish this, Xsane (which is the X windows frontend for Sane) does this by default.

Xsane comes with most distros, or is easy enough to find.

cheers,

NetScanner 2.4

NETSCANNER SNAPSHOT
This is a very fast and small IP scanner. It has many options, such as the ability to resolve host names, check for open ports, get computer name, whois, ping, conversion ip and domain name, track IP from,
resolve host names, check for open ports, get computer name - nmap
whois - whois
domain name - dig
conversion ip - ??? No clue what a "conversion IP" is supposed to mean..
track IP from - I guess this must be traceroute

At least type your queries in plain English, as opposed to this crap you think passes as "kewl", because it's not. You're not dealing with a bunch of pimply-faced adolescents.

Firstly, the bolded commands posted by farslayer are generally included with most, if not all, distros.

Secondly - you have a computer, try Google

Thirdly, there are abundant threads here at LQ relating to How to Ask A Question, and many threads relating to the appropriate bolded commands posted by farslayer. Amazingly, there is also a search function here at LQ.

So, instead of us "atleast" (sic) posting links for you, you could "at least" try to help yourself.

You could also "at least" give your distro info in your profile. That way, if there are distro-specific answers to your questions, the volunteers on this forum who may have some distro-specific expertise to offer may decide to help you.

cheers,
