Long story short... I need help and understanding of what to do when compiling apache 2.0.45, PHP4, mysql, Mod_ssl, and openssl. I have already tried this and failed miserably. SO i deleted everything in the install directories and used "locate,updatedb, and whereis" to get rid of all instances of the programs i tried to install in hopes of starting fresh.

Should I also remove /etc/httpd? I don't know if I should, but I know that when I manually install apache in /usr/local/apache there is a /conf directory.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to compile these programs together ( i have read many tutorials)?
