kvm switch on linux

I offered Trendnet a version of KVMUtility that works with Debian and OpeuSUSE linux. They said that they didn't want it.
I guess they are not interested in Linux customers.

I've used a few of their KVM's, and never found any issues with them working with Linux already. Are there issues with their existing KVM's not working in linux?

I'd assume they'd worry about legal sources of software but dunno. Pretty sure trendnet does use embedded linux on many of their products.

The KVM works with Linux. But you need to use the buttons. They don't supply a KVMUtility
for Linux. The Utility I offered works and looks like the windows KVMUtility. Click on the icon and click on the PC to switch too.

Not sure about the legal sources? I wrote the code from scratch.

When I worked at a big computer company they would always worry about such things.
For example. Where did you get the information to make the program? Did you learn it from other sources? Is the windows program owned by some other and they are paying royalty.

The KVMUtility that runs on windows is property of Trendnet. I spent a couple of weeks learning
how the codes to send to the KVM to get it to switch. One I new the codes. I learned how to write
a c++ program that could display a menu and then send the proper codes to the KVM. No information
was provided by anybody. I had asked Trendnet for info on the KVM but they said that it was proprietary
and would not release the data.
The only problem that they could have is that I used their menu as a template for the menu that I created.

None of those companies have any idea what they own. They have a million cross license agreements.

Nothing prevents you from making source level to the people who wish to use your work.
