ksysv crashes

RedHat 7.2 - up2date with all patches

rpm -e kdeadmin
rpm -i kdeadmin-2.2.2-3.i386.rpm

No joy. Crashes every time with the following trace:

#0 0x40ed11d9 in __wait4 () from /lib/i686/

rtld_fini=0x4000dcd4 <_dl_fini>, stack_end=0xbfffdefc)
at ../sysdeps/generic/libc-start.c:129

Anyone have any ideas? Call me lazy/a heretic but I'd like to
use the GUI and not hack around in init.d everytime I'm testing
