Kspread 1.6.3 autocompletion doesn't work

I'm using Koffice, specifically Kspread 1.6.3 o Mandriva 2008, KDE 3.5.7
I noticed that Kspread doesn't do an autocompletion of text.
For example - if I type a word "check" in one row and start typing "ch" in the next row Kspread should complete it to match the word "check".
Any self-respecting spreadsheet in the cyberspace does that. Not Kspread. No sir
Does anybody know how to fix it, other than using Microslop Office?
