Kradio

Does anyone know how to set up kradio? There doesn't appear to be any doc files available & search of LQ gives only an few old posts.

I can get the kradio to play--FM only-- from my v4l card but I cannot set any station presets and I cannot record. The recording monitor shows that it is receiving an input, it creates a .wav file but there is no sound recorded. I have tried various Kmix settings but to no avail.

Thanks

I can't find much on that. Never used it. See if you can google something.

Trying some of the other apps mentioned in your links.
fmtools seems to set the tuner but I cannot get it to give a sound output. http://www.linuxtv.org/v4lwiki/index.php/Radio suggests using sox to record, that creates an output file but it has no sound.
"radio" appears to be much the same as kradio, I suspect kradio is essentially a KDE interface for radio. It plays & changes stations but no way to record. I'm thinking at this point kradio recording is a gui for recording via sox and that perhaps it is not picking up the proper input.

If you are wanting to record and kradio plays the station then one solution would be Audacity.

Audacity will capture anything that is coming through the sound card. It will encode to mp3 at any bitrate you want. You'll have to have lame installed to encode to mp3. Or save it as .wav or .ogg.
