kppp not dialing out
I have a i-mega external 56k modem and I'm trying to dial out with kppp on a clean Slackware 10.1 install. The modem is detected, and responds to queries. The problem is that kppp seems to send a bullshit initialisation string to the modem. In the log window all you see is a series of squares which the modem obviously doesn't reply to.
The modem settings clearly have the initialisation string set to ATZ (default) but it's not working. I have had this same problem using kppp Kubuntu 5.04 Anybody know why? Also, is there a config file related to kppp that I can edit manually? Thanks. |
Hello,
config files are stored in /etc/ppp/ directory and there's also chat or wvdial config file to see which are probably in /etc directory. Chat or wvdial are program to communicate between PC and modem. |
