kppp kde 3.2 suse 9.0 unknown option passwordfd

I have recently made an upgrade to my suse 9.0 kde 3.1 to kde 3.2 installed several packages as kdenetwork3 3.2.. kdebase3 (which replaced kdebase -Suse ) etc..
So far so good kde 3.2 seems to run much faster than kde 3.1.
Problem is kppp refuses to work (it worked before)
tried to unistall all relative packages
kdenetwork3
smpppd
wvdial
ppp
and reinstall them from suse 9.0 cds but that doesn't seem to work.
I mention that i use kppp and not kinternet because i wasn't able to find any PAP/CHAP authentication option in kinternet as in Kppp.
Exit status of kppp is
pppd died unexpectedly
Exit Code 2 unknown option passwordfd
-also i have to mention that i also remove ppp directory from /etc and the first time i fired kppp (after reinstalling )
exited with cannot find file:/etc/ppp/kppp
Any ideas trelolinuxades??
