KPilot crashes with error 11 with network sync

Hi everyone. I have the following problem. I've been trying to sync my new LIfeDrive over the network using pi-csd and kpilot. Everything is fine until it starts backing up stuff. Then it consistently crashes with error type 11. A backtrace yields nothing. The crash always happens when backing up Blazer web browser. I have done the following troubleshooting:I deleted the kpilot directory in /home, I've reinstalled kpilot, I've reinstalled my distro, I've upgraded to KDE 3.5, I've formatted the /home partition, I've basically started from scratch. I've even exchanged the LifeDrive for a new one. I've run out of things to do. Here's the log from the command line:

kpilotDaemon: ERROR: [virtual void PilotSerialDatabase:penDatabase()] Cannot open databasePilot database error
kpilotDaemon: ERROR: [virtual void PilotSerialDatabase:penDatabase()] Cannot open databasePilot database error
kpilotDaemon: ERROR: [virtual void PilotSerialDatabase:penDatabase()] Cannot open databasePilot database error
kpilotDaemon: ERROR: [virtual void PilotSerialDatabase:penDatabase()] Cannot open databasePilot database error
kpilotDaemon: ERROR: [virtual void PilotSerialDatabase:penDatabase()] Cannot open databasePilot database error
kpilotDaemon: WARNING: [bool KPilotDeviceLink::retrieveDatabase(const QString&,DBInfo*)] : Failed, unable to back up database
kpilotDaemon: ERROR: [virtual void PilotSerialDatabase:penDatabase()] Cannot open databasePilot database error
kpilotDaemon: ERROR: [void BackupAction::backupOneDB()] : Couldn't create localdatabase for DevicePatchVFSCacheDB
kpilotDaemon: ERROR: [virtual void PilotSerialDatabase:penDatabase()] Cannot open databasePilot database error
KCrash: Application 'kpilotDaemon' crashing...

If this cannot be fixed, is there any other way to sync this with Linux? Thanks.

Actually it's funny you should mention that, because I just installed Opie on my LD not two weeks ago. It's quite impressive. Looks really nice. The only problem I have is that the image I installed has no support for Wifi or Bluetooth hardware, and it's slow enough that the text recognition is really pretty useless at the moment. Still, I'm not complaining, but at the moment it's just a really titillating toy. There also is no way for me to import my entire addressbook into Opie. Have to do it one entry at a time, and that's kind of annoying. Also, it'd be awesome if somewhere down the line there was a PalmOS emulator, maybe POSE for Opie, so I can run my Chinese Dictionary software which completely rocks. I'm going to try Infrared, now that I finally know how to use my IRda on my lappie in Gentoo. Does anyone know whether there is a way to compile apps that run natively on Linux to run on Opie/Familiar? I'd love to have a working copy of GPSDrive or FreeNX running on this thing.

As for that other issue, the hotsyncing, does anyone know whether Opie will be inteface with Linux PCs more easily, perhaps using HAL? At the moment, I'm using gpilotd with backup conduits disabled. I had to switch to Evolution which I don't like as much as KDE's suite, but necessity beckons... Thanks for the reply.
