kopete messenger hangs

I have configured kopete and yahoo protocol in it,

when i press connect button it ask me for passwd and i gave that , and it hangs and
nothing happens, no connection were made.

kopete is installed on the system on which internet is running through proxy server , so should i have to make any confiuration in the kopete for proxy settings.
or any other idea why it hangs?

maybe the yahoo people changed the protocol again. you should try logging into another messenger protocol, like aim or something. if that works you know it's a problem with yahoo. you could also try getting the newest version of kopete, or use gaim. it seems yahoo is working for me on gaim 1.0, but you should give it a try.

i tried with hotmail,

but it says connecting , always connecting , but doesn't connect finally,

and i have latest version for mandrake 9.2.

any more ideas,
