Kopete Instant Messenger

Hey ho

I saw this kopete and it looks pretty neat so I downloaded it. Compiled and installed but for some reason it decides to install it to the dir where the installation files are, yet the readme which comes with the source says... and quote:
Quote:
By default, `make install' will install the package's files in
`/usr/local/bin', `/usr/local/man'
Fair enough... but that's not what happens and it's a bit of a pain. I can't make a shortcut to the script that it runs from neither.

I have ran the program and it's great, but I have to physically using gui go into the folder where the script is and then open a terminal and run it. I can't click on it or cd into the dir and run it. weeeird! Shortcusts don't work neither.

I don't want to emerge it through gentoo because they don't have the most up-to-date version. Doing the "--prefix=/path" is a start. But then how do I get it running?

Thanks

you reckon I have to re-download the list? The only ones showing available are 0.6.x

Run the emerge sync command I guess... that should sort it.
