kopete help. won't log in. using SUSE 9.1

i have yet another problem. i guess thats what being a newbie is all about. lol. i tried to use kopete for AIM but when i chose the protocal (AIM) and put in the password the program does not log in. it shows the buddy list but does not log on. i also downloaded AIM from their website but cannot find were the program was loaded too. i am using SUSE9.1.

As far as I know you are logged in if you can see your "buddies". Maybe they are off-line?

Try another service like Yahoo or MSN, does Kopete work with these services?

Do you have the latest version of Kopete? (I think it's 0.9.0?)

yeah check the options in the main window 2 show buddies off-line, because if u couldn't log in then it displays a message saying it couldn't connect

thanks for everything. i decided to switch from SUSE to Fedora Core 3 and now everything works...thanks again for all the info.
