I have used the search within LQ to find an answer to this, it seems that it always goes unanswered, and I'm struggling to find an answer elsewhere.
Is it possible to synchronize Kontact (e.g. Kmail, KOrganizer, etc) using kitchensync/opensync? My goal is to have Kontact installed on my laptop and desktop, and to simply and easily synchronize the two with the click of a button (there is a synchronize button in the Kontact toolbar). How can it be done?
i haven't been able to figure out how to do this. i've only come up with cumbersome solutions:
1. sync between kontact and google cal using opensync (i haven't been able to get gcal and opensync to work).
2. use a local .ics file on one machine, and connect remotely to that file using the other machine (resource type "calendar in remote file").
3. a cron script running rsync.
Yes, I have a couple of rsync commands I've been using between my laptop and desktop for Kmail and KOrganizer, its cumbersome. A toolbar button would be much cleaner for me.
