Kontact/kmail end-of-line handling

I'm using kmail (4.14.10) and kontact as my email-program. One of my acconts are a MS Outlook IMAP account. This works fine except for line endings. When I'm having a threaded conversation with an Outlook user I get an extra linefeed on all old messages in the conversation. This is a cascading effect. The same happens on both HTML and text-formatted messages. The result is a message thread with lots of empty lines. I suppose this is due to the different ways Windows and Unix handles th CR LF sequence.
Does anyone know of any way I can force kmail to use Windows way of handling end-of-line? Preferably in a per user way like we can choose between HTML or text view per user.

1) Install the pst-utils package and use the readpst utility to convert Outlook emails to mbox format, which you can then import into Kmail.

2) Ask the Outlook user to configure Outlook to send email to Linux/Unix users in mbox format.

Thank you for your answer, but asking my contacts to configure their system is not an option. During a year I'm communicating with a couple of hundred people, almost all of them in organisations running Outlook/Exchange servers at their IT-departments. It is not realistic to have them and their IT-departments reconfigure their systems to suit me. But of course I wish we all run linux systems, that would make things much easier!
