Angry Konstruct "Errors Help"

I have been struggling to install kde 3.2 using konstruct on my laptop using Mandrake 9.2 download edition. I don't know how to correct the errors. Can someone please tell me how to correct this error.

The errors are as follows:

==> Applying patch download/do-not-fail-fast-malloc.diff
/bin/sh: line 1: patch: command not found
make[2]: *** [normal-patch-do-not-fail-fast-malloc.diff] Error 127
make[2]: Leaving directory `/home/gtek/tmp/konstruct/kde/kdelibs'
make[1]: *** [dep-../../kde/kdelibs] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/gtek/tmp/konstruct/kde/kdeutils'
make: *** [install] Error 2

I plan on upgrading to a newer version distro, either the mandrake 10 or debian 3.0 r2. I am waiting for my DVDs to arrive from Linux Magazine. Until then I am trying to learn how to correct erros with linux so that I can learn from my mistakes.
