konqueror vs firefox in download speed, stability and compatibility

in my opinion, konqueror is an excellent browser: opposite to firefox, it is possible to open endless tabs, it is more stable and gives a good feedback on how fast you're browsing. but unfortunately, its compatibility to a lot of websites, most important gmail.com, is bad. and i haven't tried yet if it offers as good rss-integration as firefox...

what i wonder about is the following: i upload a lot of pictures with konquerors ftp-function. but as soon as i surf with firefox besides, the upload (and sometimes even download) speed is reduced to "delayed" which i assume is 0kb/s. :D why is that and is it possible to give both browser an equal priority?

best regards

I never found firefox slow. I used konqueror when I started using linux but dropped it soon after for mozilla and firefox. Also I never saw a slowdown in in download (never uploaded). If sites give me my max bandwith I get good speeds in firefox, and for those others it's just limited.

How many endless tabs do you want? I've went pretty far with over hundreds of tabs till I ran our of RAM  in firefox, no problems there.

I would much rather use firefox than konquerer. Only thing is though that firefox just doesnt want to display content like that found on kde-look. I can do it in windoze, but I have to pop open konquerer to access the site when I am in linux.

I found that with firefox I had alot of trouble continuing a download and it wasn't as intergrated into kde (like I couldn't cut and paste with some other programs) konqueror works great once you kill that pesky "document relations" toolbar.

After I dropped KDE I never was unable to cut and paste between programs and firefox. I have to agree on the 'download manager' thingy though.

I don't know what your problem is patkalolo but for me the site shows fine in firefox.
