Konqueror: Show hidden directories in directory tree

In Konqueror it is possible to show hidden files (and directories) by checking "Show Hidden Files" in the "View" menu. However, it doesn't enable me to view the hidden directories in the directory tree in the "Navigation Panel" on the left. This disabillity limits browsing hidden directories extremely, and I believe there must be some way to enable it. No obvious answers like "unhide your directories" please ...

On the contrary, most migrators from windows will miss it sorely (as do I).

Another nifty feature is the automatic scrolling done by the windows explorer, i.e. when you open a directory and its subdirectories couldn't be listed in the same window below the opened one, the explorer moves the freshly opened directory to the top of the window. Now a feature like that would have saved me "countless" scrolling moves...

I found some interesting information on the web.
http://www.google.nl/search?q=cache:...s%3Dtrue&hl=nl

In case the cache of Google doesn't represent this anymore, here is another link:
http://atlas.et.tudelft.nl/regeli46/...uerorCrash.pdf

There are some problems with browsing hidden directories, which should be known by the KDE crew. I'm running Konqueror version 3.1-15 and can reproduce the described way to crash Konqueror flawlessly. The document however dates back to January 2th 2003. If there is more related information on this, please post it!

I'd love to see that resolved and for the hidden files in the navigation tree to be enabled by default. I use this mode a lot because it makes for quicker filesystem navigation - especially when I want to move files between deep paths.

My advice is to file a bug report with bugs.kde.org. Tell them you have enabled viewing of hidden files but they still don't show up in the navigation window. I'd think that would probably be about a 10 second fix for somebody familure with the code base...

As usual, if reporting a bug make sure to search to make sure it hasn't already been reported:)
