Konqueror Preferences

Hey everyone,

I am pretty new to Linux (only been enlightened for about 6 months or so now). I was wondering where Konqueror stores its preferences? I know opera and mozilla store them in a file and if you delete that file you can start all over, but I don't know how to do this with Konqueror. The reason for the question is Konqueror automatically tries to download stuff inside the browser instead of asking me if I want to save it and that drives me nuts. I figure I can reset all the preferences and fix it ... Thanks for the help

The konqueror folder from what I can remember is in your home directory but its hidden as .konqueror. But if you just want to change the preferences I think its Edit > Preferences are something close to that :p

Ok, well here is the deal. You know the thing that says "would you like to open this with blah, etc. or save as?" It is something like that and I accidentally clicked "never ask again" and now konqueror always tries to download any file I want to download into the /tmp directory as some funny name. I can't get it to let me actually ask if I want to save it and let me name it and such. I hope this makes sense, but I can't figure out how to get it to let me save it or at least ask me if i want to save it again.

Or you could also go to the KDE Control Center, where you can configure everything....

How to reset "Save As" settings in Konqueror

Go to /home/xxxx/.kde/share/config/konquerorrc
and find the section called: [Notification Messages]

This contains the entries for the items you clicked "Do not ask me again" simply delete them, and you are back in business. :)

Happy Surfing!
