Konqueror: Disable Sidebar

I want to disable the konqueror sidebar (not just hide it, but truly disable it, so that it can't be recalled with a menu item or F9). I don't know what the appropriate konquerorrc setting is, and would appreciate any advice.

I'm not sure about completely disabling it in the manner you suggest, but it can be disabled on konqueror startup by editing the file /etc/kde3/konqsidebartng.rc and removing the line 'OpenViews=home.desktop'.
