Konqueror behaviour modification

In case someone hasn't noticed, while copying multiple files/folders from one place to another, KOnqueror first creates empty folders at the destination before copying their contents. If the copying process is cancelled, the empty shell folders remain.
Is there a way to prevent this folder pre-creation ?

It is konqueror specific and not by way of kde settings. So possibly it should be recompiled or the source must be modified.
