Knowledgebase software needed / recommended

Hello, i'm looking to install knowledgebase software, something easy to use / install and free. I would need something that has a search engine, and perhaps a table of contents with categories. For example, links to fishing, biking, snowboarding, etc. I tried googling the issue but the only hit's i have seen are software from companies that are not free to use, and require a subscription.

Thank you.

Have a look at things like knowledgtree (which is more of a
document management system, really), or maybe Zope/Plone
(might be overkill, but it certainly should be able to fulfill your
needs in regards to information retrieval).

Maybe just search http://freshmeat.net for CMS or "knowledge
management web".

Cheers,
Tink

Hi.

I suggest you consider the special case of a wiki, of which http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wiki is itself an example ... cheers, makyo

If the Wiki idea appeals to you, see also:

I have worked a lot w/ TWiki & mostly like it.
