Knotify

Hi
Environment:
SW:Mandrake 10.1 kde 3.2
HW : CPU 350 mhz , ram 64mb ,no speaker
Prb:
Kde is automatically starting Knotify
i'm running on a computer assembled from trash ,and low on resources.
i have already disabled the sound and alsa services and all sound in kde desktop interactive configuration, but Knotify still starts using a considerable amount of memory.
Is there a way to avoid automatic start of this (for me) unesuful process ?
thanks in advance .
Maurizio

i already diasable this but knotify still starts.
if i kill it with kdesysguard,it immediately restarts,
it seems hardwired inside the kdeinit module...
i repeat seems because i'm a linux newbie

thanks

Hi
i workaround in this way
edited the startkde script and erase the
+knotify automatic startup
edited the knotifyrc setting all parameter to false, but knotify still starts...
then as last resort moving knotify.desktop
file from /usr/share/services/ to a parking directory and now knotify does not start anymore....now i'm testing application to see if there are no side problems....
i will keep you posted....
Maurizio
