Knoppix- X wont start

Fixed...I'm using damnsmall linux (damnsmalllinux.org) and it detects my hard ware fine.

After my redhat drive crashed im not allowed to install linux on my pc anymore (damn parents)...so i downloaded knoppix-std.

I booted it up using knoppix lang=us
and it all went fine up until too

Code:
x11 starting
and then the screen turned balcck and it sat there accessing the cd drive. i waited a few minutes and then just rebooted it.

I have an ati radeon 9000, 2.53 ghz p4, 512 mb ddr, 50x cdrom drive.

any ideas?

You can also tell what driver to use. Try doing

Code:
xmodule=vesa
or
Code:
xmodule=fbdev
at the lilo prompt

And if I were you, I woulden't let my parents stand in the way of me installing linux. Convince them somehow man.

one or the other, huh?

Well then...dump Windows....seriously....

But if you must run things this way...no big deal...if you have a zip drive, or attach an extra cdrw...that can be your linux hard drive....
