Whenever I try to boot my pc from knopixx cd, I got error message

"Error - Only one precesser found
Unknown bridge resource 0: assuming transparent

PCI : Device 00:1F.i not available Because of resource collision

Knoppix welcome message.............

Can't find KNOPPIX file system, sorry dropping you to a (Very little) shell, press reset to reboot."


Just can't understand why it happen, Though it run fine on my old system (P-III 933, 440BX M/B).

There is only three Addon card in my system,
Intel Pro100 Lan card and Nvidia Geforce4 AGP. Mandrake 9.1 and WinXP_Pro_SP1 also running fine on it and show no resource collision. Please help

My system configuration.

P-IV 2.8 with HT support
Intel's Made 865GBF Desktop board
Intel pro100 Ethernet card
Creative SB live!
Nvidia Geforce4 AGP
2 80G.B Samsung puma HDD

Is there is nobody who sole my problem.

What knoppix version are you using?
I think you should try with 3.3 or newer version and typing at the start
"nosmp" parameter. Which is for avoiding multiple processor detection.

knoppix nosmp

Or better

knoppix26 nosmp (to run kernel 2.6)

Pressing F2 or F3 you have a list of some of the parameters. You might know that already.

I had a lot of trouble to run knoppix on my laptop. Finally I magaed to install it on the hard disk. I am not completely satisfied but it is far better than Windows.
