knoda configure error re: qt-mt library not found

I am having a problem running configure for knoda 0.7.

I am running SuSE 9.1 64-bit. I have checked the packages installed regarding qt and kde, and I think I have everything installed.

I used the following command:

./configure --prefix=/opt/kde3 --with-qt-dir=/usr/lib/qt3

At the end of the ./configure script, I receive the error:
checking for Qt... configure: error: Qt (>= Qt 3.1.0) (library qt-mt) not found. Please check your installation!
For more details about this problem, look at the end of config.log.
Make sure that you have compiled Qt with thread support!

Extreme newbie. Usually I can tell from the errors what to do, but I'm stuck this time and a little hesitant to experiment since I know KDE is tightly integrated with the version of qt that is installed. Can someone provide some guidance?
