Does it say NetworkManager is not running, not knetworkmanager? Knetworkmanager is just a gui interface for NetworkManager which needs to be started seperately (at least in Arch)

So did you try to run NetworkManager? It will probably need to be started as root. I don't remember how to have Suse start a process on boot up, but that would probably be the best way to get it to run.

networkmanager and knetworkmanager

If I remember correctly,

go to Yast, network devices, select your network interface (ethernet card, wifi..) and then edit. In the "general" tab you will find options to set your network device to start at boot, hotplug, etc.

THen - right click on your taskbar, choose add application to panel...system...desktop applet...knetworkmanager.

when you reboot, NetworkManager should start (if you chose "at boot") and Knetworkmanager should be running on your taskbar.
