Hello all-
This is my first time installing any program in linux. (I'm running Mandrake 10.0) What I have done so far is:
1.run the configuration script
2.use the make command
3.use make install and make clean
After following those steps it is my understanding that the program should be installed in /usr/local/bin, but when I switch to that directory there is nothing in it. I also tried echo $PATH to see where else it might be installed, but a search through all of those directories still turned up nothing. I believe I'm following the right steps, but as this is my first time I'm not really sure. Any help would be appreciated.

If you are running bash as your shell you can type the first few letters of your program name and hit tab a few times it should display a small list of possible matches of what the program might be that you are attempting to run.
