KMyMoney - gnucash importer

I decided to give KMyMoney a try. I got it using apt-get for Redhat 9. The version I retrieved was 0.6 rather than the 0.8. I have been using gnucash for my money management.
I looked online for a solution and there is a gnucash importer for version 0.8 but only an alpha for 0.6. My version does not include the importer. Anyone know how to convert gnucash so I can use it with KMyMoney 0.6 without too much trouble?
